Also known as "The Heart of Dixie", Alabama first became a U.S. state in December of 1819 as the 22nd state to join the Union[1]. Known for having "Southern Hospitality", football, good BBQ, and 'Smart Rednecks', Alabama has a rich culture that is worth exploring.
Moving on from a blighted past, Alabama is now a state full of diversity and opportunity, from agriculture and sports to NASA and the aerospace industry. There are many notable and nationally recognized universities in the state, such as The Univerity of Alabama, Auburn University, and The Univerity of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
